A proposal has been submitted by the Municipal Code Corporation at a
base price of $19,850 for:
(a)
(b)
(c)
125 copies of the Code;
35 mechanical looseleaf binders (our present binders are
still usable); and
1,200 page Code, on 6" X 9" pages.
Pages in excess of 1,200 will be printed at a cost of $16.00 per page.
There are presently 1,416 pages in the Code. There is no way of knowing
how many pages will be added or deleted. We do know there is a consider-
able amount of obsolete material in the present Code to be amended or
deleted. There is also a need for new and/or additional items to be
included.
We will'also want to have certain portions such as the Zoning Ordinance
printed and bound separately. A total of $25,000 has been encumbered
from 1980 funds, subject to the approval of the agreement. It is esti-
mated the project will require approximately 18 months to complete.
The ordinances crf the City of Salina were codified in 1966 by the Munici-
pal Code Corporation and became effective January 1, 1967. Since that
time, 26 supplements including 347 ordinances and 5 resolutions result-
ing in 2,077 additional and/or replacement pages have gone into the
Code Book as of August, 1980. Considerable time is required to insert
supplements and remove obsolete pages when someone obtains a Code Book.
Since the printing of Supplement #26, 15 other ordinances have been
passed and will be forwarded to the Municipal Code Corporation to be
incorporated into the recodification if the contract is approved.
Otherwise, they will comprise Supplement #27.
