Award of contract for the 2002 Dangerous Structures Demolition, Project No. 02-1374.
BACKGROUND
On July 15, 2002 the City Commission passed Resolution #02-5852 setting a public hearing date of
August 26, 2002, to consider whether certain structures shall be condemned and ordered repaired or
demolished. At the public hearing the following three structures were condemned and ordered for
repair or demolition:
1010 Park Street
240 South Clark Street
670 Viemont Avenue
House
House
House
The deadline for removal or repair of these structures was October 9, 2002, at which time no work had
been completed at two of the three locations. The house at 1010 Park Street was demolished prior
to the October 9, 2002 deadline by the owner. The other two remain in their original condition. As a
result, City staff has prepared to contract for the demolition of these two dangerous structures.
Bids were received for this project on Tuesday, November 26, 2002 as follows:
