The Building Code Advisory Board has reviewed the 1984 National Electrical
Code and recommends its adoption, as printed, by the City of Salina, and
further that Section 8-68 of the City Code be repealed as there is a
conflict regarding the size of service required in every new single family
dwel 1 i ng.
This is the current edition of the Code which replaces the 1981 Edition
currently in use.
This will necessitate revision of Section 8-66 of the City Code to reflect
the new Edition.

AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING, BY REFERENCE· THE 1984 EDITION OF
THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE; AMENOING SECTION 8-66 OF THE SALI~IA
CODE AND REPEALING SAID ORIGINAL SECTION.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That Section 8-66 of the Salina Code is hereby amended to
read as follows:
"Section 8-66. National Electrical Code adopted.
The installation of electrical wiring and apparatus
for the utilization of electric current shall be made in
accordance with the 1984 Edition of the National Electrical
Code as published and sponsored by the National Fire
Protection Association, which is hereby incorporated by
reference, and adopted as the electrical code of the city,
except as modified by this article. Not fewer than three
(3) copies have been, and now are filed in the Office of
the City Clerk."
Section 2. That the existing Section 8-66 of the Salina Code is
hereby repe. aled.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption and publication once in the official city newspaper.
