Petition No. 3875 requesting school crossing protection on Ohio Street
between Elmhurst Boulevard and Iron Avenue.

and mutually recommends no special traffic control for school crossing pro-
tection is required in this area.
Petition No. 3880 requesting a school crossing signal at the intersection
of Ohio Street and Ellsworth Avenue.
Engineering met with the School Safety Committee on November l, 1984 and
mutually recommends a push button type cross walk signal system be installed
on Ohio Street approximately 100 feet North of Ellsworth Avenue on Ohio Street.
We would plan to use existing equipment primarily from the State and Broadway
and Ninth and Magnolia intersections which are currently being reconstructed
with upgraded signal systems. The school safety signal work would be done
by City crews at a cost of approximately $2,500. When these signals are in-
stalled the present 20 mile per hour speed zone at Minneapolis and Ohio would
be discontinued.
