SUBJECT: CURB COCKS AND METER SETTINGS
Due to inquiries from plumbing contractors requesting clarifi-
cation of the Salina !Vater Department's policy regarding curb cocks
and meter settings, we submit the following comments:
(a) All service lines replaced from the curb
cock to the building shall have a meter
box located at the curb line. Witten
permission is required from the Director
of,Utilities to locate the meter box at
any other location.
(b) If plastic service pipe is used from the
building to the meter box, a meter relocator
yoke (with a lock wing stop) shall be required.
(c) No meter box shall be located in a driveway or

(d) All curb cocks shall be a "T" handle, inverted ..
key, round way, brass curb cock or stop. See
the enclosed standard drawings for curb cock
locations.
(e) A sto nd'waste c shall be placed inside the
foundati of th uildings to be used by the
consumer s tting off the water to avoid
damage or w e of water in case of accidents
or cold w her.
(f) All details shown on the enclosed standard
drawings shall also be in full effect immediately.
