This letter is to confirm our conversation last week regarding utility
service for the Presbyterian Manor project.
Construction of the Presbyterian Manor is scheduled to begin in the
spring of 1978. The building will probably be ready for occupancy
by early 1980.
In order to provide adequate water service for domestic as well as fire
protection purposes, it will be necessary to have greater flow/pressure
capacity than currently available.
We understand that depending on the availability of construction moneys,
the City is planning to install a new 20 -inch water main south on Marymount
and east on Crawford as soon as possible. The new 20 -inch main will
provide adequate water service for this project as well as other proposed
projects in the area. We understand that the earliest possible construction
date could be summer, 1978.
It is our intent to design the on-site water utility lines for connection
to the proposed 20 -inch City water main.
We will be grateful if you would keep us advised as to the construction
schedule for the proposed new 20 -inch water main.

Re: Salina Presbyterian Manor

Gentlemen:
In accordance with your suggestion yesterday, the Salina Presbyterian
Manor Committee has instructed us to submit a petition regarding a water
line to serve this facility.
We hereby respectfully submit said petition which, we trust, has suffi-
cient and proper information for you and the City Commission to take
appropriate, prompt action. n
As you know the Manor is under construction, following normal bidding tQU1
and negotiating procedures. During the planning of this project we
consulted with you several times regarding water service and received
verbal answers to the effect that a 20" water main was planned to serve
that area on East Crawford and that construction of that line could very v
well occur this summer since it was a priority.in your planned expansion VD
of the city water system. (Reference our letter of 13 February 1978.) V
In reply to our recent inquiries about the status of this construction
you now indicate submitting a petition is the route to follow to regi
prompt action. a

We again, wish to stress the importance of getting water service to the
facility as soon as possible, so your cooperation in this matter will
certainly be appreciated. We would also appreciate a reply to this
submittal with an indication of the time at which construction of the
line can be expected.
Thank you.
