Dear Mr. Hoff:
After our discussion today, I contacted Wayne Holmes and discussed to possibility of
increasing the foundation walls to 12" thick in order to provide 5" of cover on the
reinforcing bars as originally designed. Wayne indicated that he would increase the
wall thickness so that there would be 5" of cover on the reinforcing.
Per our discussion the above described change will satisfy the design requirements.

We have completed our review of the revised building design as
submitted on May 3, 1985, for the above referenced residence. The
foundation design, as submitted, appears to be in general accordance
with our established criteria for construction within the 500' to 1000'
zone of our flood protection dike system.
The City Engineer has determined the proposed construction would
not be detrimental to our flood protection system. We are, therefore,
issuing a permit for the excavation and construction at this site,
provided all work is performed in strict accordance with the approved
plans.
All items discussed at the preconstruction conference on April 12,
1985, and the specifications as submitted on September 24, 1984, will
also apply to this revised design.

contact me.
