The objects listed on the face of this receipt have been submitted for review to
the Smoky Hill Museum for its use and for the benefit of the people of Salina and
Saline County. This receipt will acknowledge that the Smoky Hill Museum received
all items listed and that the Accesssions Committee shall determine whether or
not to accept these objects as a gift.
Upon issuance of a Deed of Gift by the Smoky Hili Museum, the objects acknowledged
from the list shall be deemed accepted as gifts by the Museum and shall thereafter
be the property of the City of Salina. The donor may withdraw, revoke or rescind
his or her intention to make a gift of any or all objects listed by notifying the
Museum in writing prior to the issuance of such acknowledgement and such objects
shall be returned to the donor.
Those objects accepted as gifts by the Smoky Hill Museum are to be protected,
exhibited, displayed, administered, copied, photographed or otherwise utilized
at the discretion of the Smoky Hill Museum. In the case of original works of
authorship (unpublished manuscripts, paintings, drawings, sculptures, etc.( all
copyrights held by the donor are hereby relinquished to the Smoky Hill Museum.
ATTENTION: According to the Tax reform Act of 1984, Section 155, if you claim
a deduction for a charitable contribution of property or similar items or property
to one or more charitable organizations, the total claimed value of which exceeds
$5,000, you must obtain a qualified written appraisal of the donated property from
a qualified appraiser and attach IRS Form 8283 signed by donee to your tax return.
