Ash Salina, Kansas 674001 Dear Mr. Boyer: The Kansas Department of Transportation has received a request from Mr. Jack Dooly, 2755 South 9th, Salina, Kansas, to release an easement for borrow that was acquired for construction of old US -81 (Broadway). The subject borrow area is located east of Broadway between Sta. 54+83 to Sta. 76. The borrow easement was acquired by the State of Kansas in the ,District Court of Saline, County, Kansas, Case No. 19991 in 1953. The US -81 roadway is under the jurisdiction of the city of Salina. Please advise this office if you wish the Kansas Department of Transportation to prepare a deed conveying the easement to the City of Salina. If it is determined that the city has no further need for the borrow easement, the city could convey the borrow easement interest adjacent to Mr. Dooley's property to him. As you have called to our attention, the stationing listed in my letter of April 8 was in error. We are enclosing a new sketch from the US -81 construction plans indicating the easement along the east side of the highway between Sta. 107+72.6 to Sta. 115+64.6. Please inform the Bureau of Right of Way if you wish to receive a quitclaim deed releasing the state's interest in the borrow easement as it coincides with Mr. Dooley's property. It is noted that this easement Sta. 80+33 southerly to Sta. entrance to Smokey Hill Air centerline and the drainage one location where the right desires, we could provide a qu City of Salina.
