WE LIVE ADJACENT TO SAID STREET. WE ARE LITERALLY GETTING SMOTHERED IN DUST EVERY DAY FROM TRAFFIC THAT HAS INCREASED OVER THE YEARS SINCE THIS AREA HAS DEVELOPED, WE HAVE A TRAILER PARK IN THIS AREA THAT HAS INCREASED TRAFFIC IMMENSELY. FOR A LONG TIME THE SURFACE OF THIS STREET WAS A HARD SURFACE BUT ABOUT TWO OR THREE YEARS AGO THIS SURFACE WAS TAKEN UP BY THE CITYAND NOW IT IS NOTHING BUT A DUST BOWL:: WE CANNOT HANG OUR LAUNDRY OUT TO DRY OR OPEN OUR WINDOWS BECAUSE OF THE DUST. IT IS NST IMPOSSIBLE TO KEEP ANYTHING CLEAN BECAUSE OF DUST, DUST; DUST! WE HAVE BEEN TOLD BY MR. DON HOFF, THE ASSISTANT CITY ENGINEER, THAT PROPOSALS HAVE BEEN MADE BEFORE TO HAVE CHEROKEE STREET SURFACED, BUT THEY HAVE BEEN TURNED DOWN. AT ONE TIME IT WAS A COUNTY ROAD BUT NOW WE UNDERSTAND IT IS CITY PROPERTY! MR. MELVIN WHO HAS A TRAILER PARK IN THIS AREA HAS PROBABLY NOT BEEN IN FAVOR OF A NEW SURFACE FOR HE WOULD CARRY A LARGE PORTION OF THE TAXES.
