Re: Salina Fire/EMS Station Survey
Dear Mr. Nye:
This letter is written as the basis of a working agreement between our firm
and the City for engineering services which we may be expected to perform
with respect to a topographic survey of Lot 1, Block 23 in Key Acres Addition
in the City of Salina (site of the proposed new Salina Fire/EMS Station).
O The topographic data collection will include appropriate grid elevations,
benchmarks, utility locations and elevations and Any other general engineer-
ing or laboratory services we may perform for you at your direction. This
proposal is valid for thirty days, and will be void if not accepted and
returned within that period.
We reserve the ,right to terminate this agreement by written notice for any
JI�J specific assignment whenever we believe that we cannot effectively serve
you, when we have a conflict of interest, or when we cannot for other
ethical reasons act on your behalf.
In return for these services, we propose to charge on a man-hour and expenses
basis for partners in or employees of our firm, for all time spent, including
travel time, in accordance with the attached "Hourly Rate Schedule" and
�( "Miscellaneous Charges" schedules dated August 1983. These rates will be
in effect until February 1984. The "Hourly Rate Schedule" and "Miscellaneous
Charges" schedules reflect charges which vary with salary and other costs.
To reflect current costs these schedules will be reissued in February and
August of each year. Charges for services will be based on the schedules
in effect when a billing period starts. The maximum not -to -exceed limit of
this agreement is $900.
Billing will be prepared by our firm each billing period following any
billing period in which services have been rendered and payments are to be
made within thirty days.- Our billing periods are each of four weeks'
duration. Past due accounts will have an additional charge of 1-1/2% per
month added after 30 days from date of invoice.

Also included under these pay arrangements and a part of this contract are
any services performed for the following reasons at any time in the future.
a. When directed by people from your organization to perform services,
either by verbal or by written instructions, which may or may not
relate to the originally performed services, and for which no
other specific contractual arrangements between our two organiza-
tions exist.
b. When subpoenaed by any litigant to make depositions or testify in
any matter in which we have performed services for you. These
services include preparation and research, laboratory services,
travel, court appearances and waiting at or in court at the
request of any party to the proceedings or intended proceedings.
If the terms herein are satisfactory to you, would you please so indicate
with the appropriate signature in the space provided at the end of this
letter. Please retain one copy for your files and return the other to us.

BILLING POLICY and CREDIT TERMS
Our billing will be prepared each billing period following any billing period in which services have been
rendered. Payments are to be made within 30 days from the date of our invoice. Each of our billing periods
is of four weeks' duration. We reserve the right on past due accounts to suspend all services and to levy an
additional percentage charge per billing period until payment is received.
