Dear Mr. Kennedy:
L - 16.G '
We are enclosing a Supplement No. 5 to extend the old Flight. Service
Station lease contract FA3-1556 for another year or to the time the
facility on the new airport is occupied. The reading of the supple-
ment is the same we have had for the past two years in Supplements No. 3
and No. 4 to the lease.
If satisfactory to the Airport Authority and the City, please have
the Mayor sign the original and both copies and return them to this
office. Upon acceptance by the Government a fully executed copy
will be returned for your records.
Someday we hope to visit the new airport and become personally
acquainted with you instead of communication by phone.
Since the conversion of the old P.APCON building is now underway,
we hope to be in the new Flight Service Station by this time next
year.
We thank you for your assistance in extending this lease.
Sincerely yours,
/

Re: Flight Service Station Lease at Old Airport.
Called Mr. Wiley, Contracting Officer for FAA, about Flight Service
Station Ammendment 115 to Lease Contract FA3-1556. He says that the
contractor will finish the alterations to Bldg. 11122 in 90 days, which
gives them until 27 August 1968. They have a penalty clause in the
contract.
It will take FAA electrical and electronics people from 4 to 6 months
to install the equipment after the first contract is completed 27 August
1968. Wiley says this is about as close as they can estimate it. '
He said he is real !.sorry about the delay because they had the contract
let once last year and had to cancel out because they didn't have money,
to do it. He hopes it will not inconvenience this City of Salina too
much. All the space they need is where the Flight Service Station office
and equipment is located, which is the south two or three rooms. He
hopes we will bear with them until they can get everything ready. They
will install new equipment and the equipment is at Oklahoma City waiting
to be installed.
