AGREEMENT
This Agreement, made and entered into this 1st day of June ,
197, by and between the CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS, a municipal corporation,
hereinafter referred to as the "City", and SALINA 04ERSUCY FOOD BANK, INC.,
a Kansas non-profit corporation, with principal offices at Salina, Saline
County, Kansas, hereinafter referred to as the "Tenant", WITNESSETH:
pEIEREAS, the City is the owner of a building located at 400 West Ash
Street in Salina, Saline County, Kansas, commonly ]mown as Memorial Hall,
which the City has remodeled for use as a community activity center; and,
WHEREAS, the Tenant is engaged in a canmuiity service and desires to
use a portion of Memorial Hall as offices from which to provide its ser-
vices to the citizens of the Salina conmw ty.
NOW THERUORE, it is mutually agreed by and between the City and the
Tenant as followsd
(1). Use of Premises: City grants Tenant the right to use, free of
charge, the following portion of Memorial Hall, to wit:
Emergency food: Caged in area in the West central area of
Memorial Hall.
Emergency Aid: The small office area on West central side
of Memorial Hall (near SW double doors).
(2). Term of Lease: This lease shall be for a primary term of doe
year commencing on the
1st day of June , 1978. After
the primary term of this lease it shall continue on a month to month basis,
subject to the rights of either party to terminate as hereinafter provided.
(3). Services Provided by City: City agrees that it will provide
the following in regards to the leased premises:
(a). All utilities (except telephone)
(u). Janitorial service, except in area under exclusive
control of Tenant
(4). Services Provided by Tenant: Tenant agrees it will provide for
the citizens of Salina, free of charge, the following services:
(a). Aid in arranging for services such as meals, food,
lodging, transportation, etc. through designated establish-
ments.
(b). Referral and follow-up for all area residents who
cane through our office (build and maintain open caammica-
tion with other agencies and community resources).
(c). Provide some direction for those in need of immed-
iate counsel either through our office or within canmr ty
by referral to churches, legal services, SRS, Red Cross,
i or other resources as the situation indicated.

(d). Maintain the Salina Emergency Food Bank.
(e). Use of area persons for volunteer assistance in
various capacities to service the camunity.
(5). Indemnity: Tenant agrees to hold and save harmless the City
frau any and all liahility for property damage or bodily injury claim which
may result from its use of the premises and to reimburse the City for any
expenses the City may incur as a result thereof.
(6). Termination: After the primary teen Of this lease either party
may terminate it by giving to the other party thirty (30) days written
notice of its intention to terminate.
(7). Nondiscrimination: Tenant covenants that it will furnish all
of its services to all citizens of Salina and will mt discriminate against
any individual by reason of race, sex, religion, age, color, national ori-
gin, amestory, physical handicap or martial status.
IN WrniESS WBERFAF, the respective parties have hereunto caused this
instrument to be executed on its behalf by its duly authorized officers,
all on the day and year first above written.
