Family Residential District) to C-3 (Shopping Center District) on Lot I and
the W. 25' of Lot 10, Block 3, Replat of Lots 1-15 inclusive, Garden Home
Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas (approximately 651S. Front).
On November 19, 1985, the Salina City Planning Commission concluded a public
hearing on the above referenced application. The hearing began on August 20, 1985
but, after some concern for the rezoning was expressed by residents in the area,
the application was tabled to enable the applicant to pursue the possibility of
amending the Zoning Regulations in order to eliminate the need for an actual
rezoning on this property. Application #Z85-14 was filed in an attempt to
accomplish this, but was denied by the City Commission on November 18, 1985.
Therefore, this application was finally heard on November 19th.
At that time, a motion was unanimously approved (6-0) to recommend to the City
Commission. that this application be denied.
If you concur with this recommendation, a simple motion to that effect is all that
is necessary today. If not, this application must be returned to the Planning
Commission with a statement specifying the basis for your disapproval of the
recommendation.
A protest petition (#3913) containing approximately 18 signatures has been filed
in opposition to this application, however, since the protest period will not
expire until December 3, 1985, no attempt to determine its validity has been made.
