6.6 Adopt Historic SurveyCITY OF SALINA REQUEST FOR COMMISSION ACTION DATE TIME 11/18/85 4:00 P.M. AGENDA SECTION: Consent ORIGINATING DEPARTMENT: APPROVED FOR NO. 6 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AGENDA: Planning Division ~ NO. 6 BY: BY: RE: Application #M85-11, filed by the Salina City Heritage Commission requesting adoption of the City of Salina's "Historic Resources Survey, Parts I and II" as an element of the Comprehensive Plan. On August 15, 1985, the Salina City Heritage Commission unanimously adopted the second half of Salina's Historic Resources Survey and recommended that Parts I and II be forwarded to the City Planning Commission for recommendation to the City Commission that both parts of the survey be incorporated into the Comprehensive Plan's Heritage Conservation component. In accordance with K.S.A. 12-704, the Salina City Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on November 5, 1985 in order to consider this matter. At that time, a motion was unanimously approved (5-0) adopting Resolution #PC85-6. This resolution approved the proposed addition to the Comprehensive Plan and formally submits it to the City Commission and any other affected body for a 60-day review and comment period which expires on January 17, 1986. No action is necessary today, other than to receive the information and begin the review process. Attachments: Historic Resources Survey, Parts I and II Resolution #PC85-6 COMMISSION ACTION MOTION BY SECOND BY TO: RESOLUTION #PC85-6 A RESOLUTION APPROVING PARTS I AND II OF THE CITY OF SALINA'S HISTORIC RESOURCES SURVEY FOR INCORPORATION INTO THE CITY OF SALINA'S COMPREHENSIVE PLAN. WHEREAS, the City of Salina, Kansas has caused to be prepared a Historic Resources Survey describing those historically and/or architecturally significant structures and sites in Salina; and WHEREAS, as required by KSA 12-704, a public hearing was duly advertised at least 20 days prior to the public hearing; and WHEREAS, the Salina City Planning Commission conducted the required public hearing on November 5, to consider Parts I and II of the Historic Resources Survey, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE Planning Commission of the City of Salina, Kansas, that Section 1: The documents entitled "Historic Resources Survey, Part I" and "Historic Resources Survey, Part II" are hereby approved by reference. Section 2: That said "Historic Resources Survey, Part I" and "Historic Resources Survey, Part II" are hereby submitted to the Salina City Commis- sion for a statutory 60 day review period, which expires on January 4, 1986.
