4.3 4-H WeekWHEREAS, 4-H Week is being observed nationally by over 3 million
youth; and
WHEREAS, 4-H is the largest out of school educational program for
youth and children between the ages of 7 and 19; and
WHEREAS, 4-H is for both urban and rural youth; and
WHEREAS, 4-H builds on experience to give equal training to
the Head, Heart, Hands, and Health; and
WHEREAS, 4-H helps youth b'uild self confidence, develop an
inquiring mind, learn to make decisions, improve
abilities of relating to others, and develop a concern
for the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Merle A. Hodges, Mayor of the City of Salina
do hereby proclaim October 6 through 12, 1985 as:
NATIONAL 4-H WEEK
throughout the City and urge all Salina Citizens to
attend, observe, and support the work of the 4-H
Clubs.
