Second Reading Ordinance Number 85-9098 - making it unlawful for any person
under the legal age for consumption of cereal malt beverages to have
possession of cereal malt beverages or for any person to sell or provide any
cereal malt beverage to such person; amending Section 5-71 of the Salina Code
and repealing the existeing section.

AN ORDINANCE MAKING IT UNLAWFUL FOR ANY PERSON UNDER THE
LEGAL AGE FOR CONSUMPTION CF CEREAL MALT BEVERACES TO HAVE
POSSESSION OF CEREAL MALT BEVERAGES Oi~, FOR ANY PERSON TO SELL OR
PROVIDE ANY CEREAL MALT BEVERACE TO SUCH PERSON: AMENDING
SECTION 5-71 OF THE SALINA CODE AND REPEALIHG THE EXISTING SECTION.
BE 1T ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. Section 5-71 of the Salina Code shall be amended to read
as follows:
"Section 5-71. Furnishing to persons under lecjal a~;e.
No person shalt, knowingly or unknowingly, sell, give
away, dispose of, exchange and/or deliver, cr permit the
sale, givin9 ~way, or procuring of any cereal malt beverage
for or to any person under the legal age for consumption of
cereal malt beverages."
Section 2. That the Salina Code is hereby amended by adding a
section to be numbered as follows:
"Section 5-72(a).
Possession of cereal malt beveraoe
by a person under legal ac~e For
consumpt on.
It shall be unlawful for Cny person under the legal age
for consumption of cereal malt beverages to have any' cereal
malt beverages in his or her possession."
Section 3. That the existing Section 5-71 is hereby repealed.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption and publication once in the officiat city newspaper.
