annexation of approximately 39.75 acres of land located in the NE¼ of the NW¼
of Section 1, Township 15 South, Range 3 West of the 6th Principal Meridian
in Saline County, Kansas, less the Union Pacific Railroad right-of-way.
(Approximately one-quarter mile east of Ninth St. on the south side of
Schilling Rd.)
The applicant proposes to sell this tract for development of a mobile home sub-
division. Applications #PDD85-3 and #P85-4, requesting approval of a Preliminary
PDD and a Preliminary Plat respectively for this tract, are pending and the appli-
cant for this annexation petition requests it be approved-conditional upon approval
of the plat and P.D.D.
Since this property is approximately 1/4 mile from the existing city limits and is
not contiguous to them, K.S.A. 12-520c(3) requires the City Commission to pass a
resolution advising the County Commission of this application and seeking a find-
ing, in the form of a resolution, on whether or not the annexation will hinder or
prevent the people growth and development of the area or any other incorporated
city. This resolution from the County Commission permits the City Commission to
place the annexation request on its agenda for consideration.
A motion and vote to approve the attached resolution is required to proceed with
this application.
