ORDINANCE NUMBER 85-9090
AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING, BY REFERENCE, THE 1985 EDITION OF
THE UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE AND ALL APPENDICES, AMENDING SECTION
8-281 OF THE SALINA CODE AND REPEALING THE EXISTING SECTION.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That Section 8-281 of the Salina Code is hereby amended to
read as follows:
"Section 8-281. Uniform Mechanical Code adopted.
There is hereby adopted, by reference, by the City for
the purpose of providing minimum standards to safeguard life
or limb, health, property and public welfare by regulating
and controlling the design, construction, installation, quality
of materials, location, operation, and maintenance of heating,
ventilating, cooling, refrigeration systems, incinerators and
other miscellaneous heat-producing appliances, that certain
mechanical code known as the Uniform Mechanical Code,
recommended and published by the International Conference
of Building Officials, being particularly the 1985 Edition
thereof, and the whole thereof, of which not fewer than
three (3) copies have been and are now on file in the Office
of the City Clerk and the same are hereby incorporated as
fully as if set out at length herein, and the provisions
thereof shall be controlling in the installation of all
heat-producing appliances within the corporate limits of the
City."
Section 2. That the existing Section 8-281 of the Salina Code is
hereby repealed.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force
from and after its adoption and publication once in the official city newspaper.
