Harrison BY: First Reading Ordinance Number 85-9066 - providing the penalties for violation of a traffic infraction or any other traffic offense specified in the Standard Traffic Ordinance. With the passage of the Standard Traffic Ordinance for Kansas Cities on February 11, 1985, it is necessary to adopt this ordinance. It is recommended that the fine for violation of the traffic ordinance shall be a minimum of $10.00 and a maximum of $100.00. The fine for a person who is tried and convicted of a violation of the traffic ordinance shall not exceed $500.00. These fines will be set by the Municipal Judge. Second Reading is scheduled for March 11, 1985. BE IT ORDAINED [2y the Governing Body of the City of Saline, Kansas: Section 1. That the Salina Code is hereby amended by adding a section to be numbered Section 38-1.1· which section shall read as follows: "Section 38-1.1 Penalties for scheduled fir, es. The fine for violation of an ordinance traffic infraction or any other traffic offense for which the Municipal Judge establishes a fine in a fine schedule shall not be less than $10.00 nor more than $100.00. A person tried and convicted for an ordinance traffic infraction or other traffic offense for which a fine has been established in a schedule of finds shall pay a fine fixed by the Court not to exceed $500.00." Section 2. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption and publication once in the official city newspaper.
