WHEREAS, good vision enhances the quality of life for the
members of our community, and;
WHEREAS, this good vision affects the personal lifestyles
of our citizens, their public activities and their contributions
to the community as a whole, and;
WHEREAS, each individual is responsible for protecting and
caring for vision,
AND WHEREAS, Save Your Vision Week is celebrated to remind
individuals of this valuable natural gift and about the profes-
sional care available to help preserve and protect good vision,
NOW, therefore, I, Charles Roth, Mayor of the City of Salina,
proclaim along with the President of the United States, the
week of March 3-9, 1985 as. Save Your Vision Week.
I urge the citizens of Salina to consider their good vision
worthy of preservation and protection.
I call on doctors of optometry, other health care profes-
Sionals, our news media and con~unity leaders to take part by
encouraging our citizens to care for their vision for a future
worth seeing.
