4.1 Vocational Education WeekEDUCATION ~EK
WHEREAS, Vocational Educators believe that opportunities for Vocational Edu-
cation should be available to all citizens who can benefit from such training;
and
W'HEP. E.!~, through the increased emphasis on preparing individuals to enter em-
ployment, various programs are available to assist individuals in reaching their
occupational goals; and
WHEREAS, professional contributions of vocational educators of this State have
assisted youth and adults in the process of preparation for work; and
WHEREAS, Vocational Education serves secondary and postsecondary youth as well
as adults in preparing them for occupations; and
WHEREAS, thousands of students in vocational-technical education programs are
benefitting from well planned curricula, and are making a substantial contri-
bution to the State's economin growth as employees in Kansas industry and
business; and
WHEREAS, that week in February has been set aside by proclamation of the Gover-
nor of Kansas as Vocational Education Week; and
WHEREAS, the ultimate success of this endeavor rests with each and every indi-
vidual who is concerned with providing training opportunities through a
comprehensive educational curriculum for all students;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Charles Roth, Mayor of the City of Salina, do hereby proclaim
February 10-16, 1985, as
VOCATIONAL EDUCATION WEEK
In the City of Salina, and urge all citizens of this great community to visit
their local Area Vocational-Technical School and thereby make themselves better
acquainted with the services offered by that institution to benefit Salina, the
State and the Nation,
