The Salina City Planning Commission at its May 20, 1986 meeting conducted the annual review of the City's Comprehensive Plan, as required by KSA 12-704. At that time, a motion was unanimously (6-0) approved to approve the attached amend- ments to the Future Land Use Plan Map of the Comprehensive Plan. In accordance with KSA 12-704, herewith is transmitted a certified copy of the revised Future Land Use Plan Map, containing the following changes: Number Location From: To: 1. W. In addition, the Planning Commission at its public hearing also considered amending the right-of-way requirements for collector-designated streets, from 80' to 60', and unanimously (6-0) approved a motion to amend the Comprehensive Plan's Trans- portation component to reflect that change. (This amendment to the Comprehensive Plan will be accompanied by similar amendments to the zoning and subdivision regulations.) KSA 12-704 further provides that the City commission and all other affected public bodies shall, within 60 days, consider the plan and submit its recommendations regarding said plan back to the Planning Commission. The Planning Commission shall then consider your recommendations and adopt the revised Future Land Use Plan Map and Transportation components as parts of the Comprehensive Plan of the City. Enc. Resolution #PC86-2 Revised Future Land Use Plan Map Revised Transportation Component COMMISSION ACTION MOTION BY SECOND BY TO: CITY OF SALINA PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION #PC86-2 WHEREAS, the Salina City Planning Commission has caused to be adopted, a Comprehensive Plan on January 6, 1981; and WHEREAS, said Comprehensive Plan is reviewed and amended annually by the Planning Commission as required by Kansas Statutes Annotated 12-704; and WHEREAS, a public hearing was duly advertised and held on May 20, !986 for the purpose of amending said Comprehensive Plan; and NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section I. That the following areas designate all the amendments to the Future Land Use Plan from June 4, 1985 through May 20, 1986: FUTURE LAND USE ELEMENT: 1. West Crawford St. The Board agreed to designate the south side from ~herokee west to Centennial Road as commercial. e North Ninth St. The Board decided to change to commercial the area bounded by ½ block west of 9th Street, 8th Street, Bishop Street and Elm Street. East Iron Ave. and Ohio St. The Board decidea to designate the south side of East Iron 'Ave. from Ohio St. east to Delaware as commercial. They decided to remove the note which reads "Not beyond existing commercial development." e South Ninth St. The Board decided to show commercial development between 9th and 1-135 extending from approximately Belmont Blvd. to Schilling Road and industrial from Schilling Road south to Water Well Road. No changes were made on the east side of S. 9th St. 5. East Crawford St. The Board changed to commercial the the north side of Crawford from Marymount Road to Fairdale Road. 0 Centennial Road The Board changed to industrial the vacant/agricultural tract lying west of Centennial Road and north of Water Well Road to the west edge of the Saline County yard area. 7. East Crawford and South Ohio St. The Board decided to amend the map to reflect existing commercial development in this area. 8. Belmont Blvd. The Board decided to designate the site of the ~ecently-opened Fire Station #$ as public and semi-public. Resolution #PC86-2 Page Two e West Euclid Ave. The Board decided to designate as commercial the land l~ing approximately 700' west of N. Ninth St. between Thomas Park and approximately ½ block south of Euclid Ave. and to designate as industrial, the land lying north of Euclid Ave. and west of the newly designated commercial area. 10. The 600 Block of N. Eighth St. area bounded by 9th Street, industrial area. The Board changed to industrial the 7th Street, Grand Avenue ano existing 11. S. The Board decided to designate a lO-acre tract at the southern edge of the former airport runway, east of and adjacent to Markley Rd. as public and semi-public due to the acquisition by USD 305 of the site for use as an elementary school. Section II.
