Petition No. ,3945 was filed by Keith Thaemert for the Vacation of five (15) feet of
street right-of-way on each side of University Place from Coll.ege Avenue to Twelfth
Street.
During the platting process of University Addition, seventy (70) feet of right-of-way
for University Place was dedicated to the public. Our current standard for residential
street right-of-way is sixty (160) feet.
The vacation of five (5) feet of street right-of-way on each side of this street would
still provide adequate right-of-way for a residential street such as University Place
and would allow the adjacent owners greater flexibility in the development of their
properties.
We are, therefore, recommending the City Commission direct the City Attorney to prepare
the necessary documents to cause the surplus right-of-way on University Place between
College Avenue and Twelfth Street to be vacated as requested in accordance with State
statutes.
