RE: Amendment of the Enterprise Zone Map
The Salina Area Chamber of Commerce and the Salina Airport Authority have contacted us
about adding a number of tracts to Salina's Enterprise Zone. The Enterprise Zone Map
would be amended to add 15 tracts of land totaling approximately 207 acres. This would
bring the total area within the Enterprise Zone to 1,995 acres (15.3% of the City) and
the population to 5,621 persons (13.4% of the City).
The approximate locations and sizes of the tracts to be added are as follows:
Tract 8
The S.R.& G. Industrial Park Addition, north of Water Well Rd. along the west side of
Centennial Rd. (75.28 acres).
Tract 9
A tract of land at the northeast corner of Schilling Rd. and Arnold Ave. (3.22 acres).
Tract 10
A tract of land along the east side of Scanlan Avenue between General Jim Rd. and Sut-
herland Rd. (5.52 acres).
Tract 11
A tract of land at the northwest corner of Arnold Avenue and General Jim Rd. (5.25
acres).
Tract 12
The tract at the southwest corner of Schilling Rd. and Centennial Rd. containing Tony's
Pizza (16 acres).
Tract 13
The tract containing the building on the southwest corner of Scanlan Avenue and Ohlke Rd.
(.48 acres).
Tract 14
Yhe tract containing the building on the southeast corner of Scanlan Ave. and
Ohlke Rd. (.85 acres).

and the Missouri Pacific RR tracks.
Tract 16
A tract of land containing two buildings at the northwest corner of Schilling Rd.
and Arnold Ave. (1.7 acres).
Tract 17
A tract of land along the west side of Arnold Ave. between Schilling Rd. and
Jumper St. (3.5 acres).
Tract 18
A 13.5 acre tract of land at the southeast corner of the 1-70 and N. 9th St.
interchange.
Tract 19
Lots 1, 2 and 3 of the Interstate District North of 1-70 Addition at the southwest corner
of Diamond Drive and Old Highway 81. This tract contains about 1.92 acres.
Tract 20
Lots 1-8 of the Interstate District North of 1-70 Addition No. 2 along the west side of
Old Highway 81. This tract contains about 32 acres.
Tract 21
The former Long Oil Co. tract at the northwest corner of Diamond Drive and Old Highway
81, containing about 1.3 acres.
Tract 22
A tract of unplatted land north of Interstate District North of 1-70 Addition No. 2
containing about 42 acres.

In anticipation of your willingness to amend the enterprise zone designation in this
manner, we have prepared the necessary resolutions to accomplish it. We are proposing to
keep all local incentives as adopted in the original Enterprise Zone Plan: targeted
capital improvements and fee waivers for building, remodeling and demolition permits for
commercial and industrial structures inside the proposed Enterprise Zone. A copy of the
Enterprise Zone Plan and the proposed map amendments must be submitted to the Kansas
Department of Commerce for State approval.
If you concur with this request, you should adopt both resolutions today.
