Petition Number 3932 was filed by the Meadowlark School Safety Committee for the
installation of a curb line sidewalk on the south side of Glen Avenue from Marymount
Road to Beechwood Road and on the north side of Northwood Lane from Beechwood Road to
Fairdale Road.
This petition was signed by one hundred seventeen (117) individuals. The Saline County
records indicate only four (4) of the petition signers are not listed as owners of
real estate property and, therefore, their signatures are not valid on this petition.
Under. Kansas Statutes 12-1803, twenty five (25) valid signatures are required to present
this petition to the governing body who may, in its discretion, by resolution, order
such sidewalks constructed.
It is the recommendation of this department that authorization be given to construct
these sidewalks along established school routes.
The assessment with accrued interest to be levied as a special assessment tax upon the
property included within the benefit district concurrent with the general property tax
and shall be paYable in four (4) equal annual installments.
