4.1 National Volunteer WeekWHEREAS, one of America's greatest natural resources is its
Volunteers and the human cesources they devote
toward a healthy and productive society; and
WHEREAS, every year thousands of volunteers contribute to the
betterment of our community; and
WHEREAS, it has long been a tradition in our community for
men and women volunteers to perform work of the
highest quality and to brighten the lives of those
they touch; and
WHEREAS, Volunteers give freely of their, time, energy and'
ability and ask only for a smile and a thank you
for their countless hours of service;
NOW THEREFORE, I, Stephen C. Ryan, Mayor of the City.of Salina,
Kansas, do hereby proclaim the week of April .26 thru
May 2, 1987 as
VOLUNTEER WEEK
in the City of Salina, Kansas, and urge all citizens
of Salina to join with me in paying tribute to all
the volunteers in Salina.
