Bids were received on November 10, 1988, at 10:00 a.m.' for Water Supply Facilities
(Phase II) (Project No. 88-770). The bids received are tabulated below:
(a) Smoky Hill, Inc. $1,370,200.00
(b) Wilson Constructors, Inc. 1,428,895.00
(c) Frank Construction Company, Inc. 1,469,900.00
(d) Clean Water Construction, Inc. 1,518,000.00
(e) Walters-Morgan Construction, Inc. 1,539,800.00
(f) BRB Contractors, Inc. 1,577,000.00
(g) LaForge & Budd Construction, Inc. 1,638,000.00
(h) Utility Contractors, Inc. 1,679,000.00
This project involves the construction of a river pumping station and inlet on the
Smoky Hill River and also work on the desilting basin at the Water Plant. All bids
received were reviewed by'our office and found to be valid. The engineer.'s estimate
for this project was $1,610,000.00.
It .is our recommendation, therefore, that-the City Commission award the contract for
Project No. 88-770 to Smoky Hill, Inc., Salina, Kansas, who submitted the low bid of
$1,370,200.00. '
This project is funde~ by revenue bonds issued by tile combined Water and Sewerage
Department.
