Suggestions on how to effectively communicate and serve the customer needs of those with hearing impairments included the following: - Tap on the shoulder, from the front or side, to get their attention - Keep your face in view - Speak to the person, not the interpreter - If you need to write something down, go ahead - Don't mutter, speak clearly - Don't yell - Speak naturally - Make sure mustaches are trimmed - During presentations, repeat group questions, then answer - Use round table settings for group discussions - Talk one at a time - Remember that the Kansas Relay Service repeats verbatim - If purchasing a Text Telephone, purchase a unit with four rows The training was well received and appreciated by the employees.
