Bids were received on July 21, 1988, at 10:00 a.m. for. street improvements (Project
No. 88-768). The sole bid received is tabulated below:
(a) J. H. Shears' Sons, Inc. .$103,825.00
This project involves the construction of a bituminous overlay of certain streets (See
attached list). The bid received was reviewed by our office and found to be valid.
The engineer's estimate for this project was $128,750.00.
It is our recommendation, therefore, that the City Commission award the contract for
Project No. 88-768 to J. H. Shears' Sons, Inc., Salina, Kansas, who submitted the low
bid of $103,825.00.
This project is funded by sales tax and special gas tax funds.
