Bids were received on December 6, 1989, at 10:00 a.m. for the 1989 Curb and
Gutter Replacement Program (Project No. 89-797). The bids received are
tabulated below:
(a) Wilson Constructors, Inc. $22,763.30
(b) Smoky Hill, Inc. 24,738.00
(c) Wilbur Construction Co. 26,560.80
This project involves the removal and replacement of approximately 2,200
L.F. of curb and gutter on five (5) of our major streets (Ash; Claflin;
College; Iron; and Kenwood). All bids received were reviewed by our office
and found to be valid. The engineer's estimate for this project was
$34,720.00.
It is our recommendation, therefore, that the City Commission award the
contract for Project No. 89-797 to Wilson Constructors, Inc., Salina,
Kansas, who submitted the low bid of $22,763.30.
This project was included in the 1989 Capital Improvements Projects (Sales
Tax).
