RECOMMENDATION
Set the date of December 7, 1989, at 10:00 a.m. as the date and
time for the City of Salina to accept and publicly open bids for
the sale of miscellaneous used Parks & Recreation Department,
Street Department, and Fire Department equipment.
Specifications are available for review and will be mailed to
interested parties and individuals. A notice to bidders will also
be published in the Salina Journal.

Sealed bids, addressed to the City of Salina, Kansas, P.O. Box 736, Salina,
Kansas 67402-0736, and endorsed "Bid on Used Equipment" will be received in
Room 206, City-County Building, 300 West Ash, by Jacqueline Shiever, City
Clerk of the City of Salina, Kansas, up to 10:00 a.m., C.S.T., on ThurSday,
December 7, 1989, at which time bids will be opened and publicly read aloud
in Room 200. Bids received later than this date and hour will be returned
unopened. Bid sheets are available at the City Clerk's Office. Bids s~ould
be submitted on individual equipment.
The City of Salina is offering the following used equipment for sale:
Golf Course
8 1985 Yamaha G1AM3 4-wheel 2-cycle gas engine powered golf carts;
Parks & Recreation Dept.
1 Century-brand restroom cube;
1 Century-brand concession cube;
1 1974 Vulcan Manlift (not to be used for lifting personnel);
Street Dept.
2 1951 10-in. Carver pumps. Continental Red Seal 90 hp engines, trailer
mounted;
1 1956 Clipper Saw VF4 Wisconsin motor;
1 Solvent cleaning tank with pump and strainer;
1 500-gal. steel water tank;
1 150-gal. aluminum tank;
1 Granular material plate compactor;
1 14'x8' Fiberglass overhead door;
2 12,000 BTU Natural gas heaters;
3 24"x16" Double hung windows, 12 lights;
4 60"x46" Aluminum windows 4 light, awning style;
2 44"x31" Steel sash windows.

The City of Salina is selling the equipment on an "as is" basis. Bidders may
examine the golf course equipment by contacting Mark Lytle, Salina MuniCipal
Golf Course Superintendent, at the Club House (913) 827-6050 or theiShop
(913) 825-2562. Bidders may examine the Parks & Recreation Dept. equipment
by contacting Randi Clifford, Recreation Superintendent, at (913) 823-~141.
Bidders may examine the Street Dept. equipment by contacting Frank weinhold,
Dir. of General Services, at (913) 823-6621. Bidders may examine Fire Dept.
equipment by contacting Tom Girard, Fire Chief, at (913) 827-0411.
A certified check or cashier's check for the amount will be given to the City
of Salina at the time of delivery.
The Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids~with
or without cause and to waive any irregularities therein or technicalities.
