Bids were received on March 23, 1989, at 10:00 a.m. for silt removal from the river
channel near and through the park area. This project is titled "River Redevelopment -
Phase I." The bids received are tabulated below:
1) Pearson Excavating, Inc. $107,685.00
2) Wilson Constructors, Inc. 88,500.00
3) Smoky Hill, Inc. 84,000.00
4) J. H. Shears' Sons, Inc. 83,325.00
5) Stevens Contractors, Inc. 81,000.00
6) Bob Albers Construction, Inc. 78,662.00
7) Frank Construction Co., Inc. 64,350.00
All bids received were reviewed by our office and found to be valid. The engineer's
estimate for this project Was $96,000.00
It is our recommendation, therefore, that the City Commission award the contract for
Project No. 89-781 to Frank Construction Company, Inc., Salina, Kansas, who submitted
the low bid of $64,350.00 and indicated a completion time of 60 calendar days to
complete this work.
This project is funded with sales tax funds.
