Bids were received on February 9, 1989, at 10:00 a.m. for Sidewalk Ramps (Project
No. 89-780). The bids received are tabulated below:
(a) Delta Services, Inc. $11,951.00
(b) Wilson Constructors, Inc. $17,453.00
(c) Lancaster Construction Company $18,829.00
(d) Wilbur COnstruction Company $19,495.00
(e) Frank Construction Company, Inc. $27,524.00
This project involves the construction of public sidewalk ramps for handicapped
accessibility along certain arterial streets. All bids ~eceived were reviewed by
our office and found to be valid. The engineer's estimate for this project was
$25,150.00.
It is our recommendation, therefore, that the City Commission award the Contract
for Project No. 89-780 to Delta Services, Inc., Salina, Kansas, who submitted the
low bid of $11,951.00.
This project is funded by sales tax funds included in the 1989 budget for sidewalk
improvements. The Contractor indicated a comple'tion time of 60 Calendar days for
this work.
