First and second reading Ordinance No. 08-10468 amending Chapter 8, Article III, Division 3, Section
8-187 of the Salina Code pertaining to classifications of skilled trade licenses.
BACKGROUND:
On September 15, 2008 the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 08-10466 on second reading
which amended the classifications of a master and journeyman license. Within the ordinance, the
classifications of a sheetmetal journeyman, solid-fuel appliance installer, and apprentice were left out.
This ordinance would correct this and add those classifications back into the City Code.
Staff is asking the City Commission to consider this ordinance on first and second reading on the
same day so it can be re-codified immediately.
COMMISSION ACTION:
Pass Ordinance No. 08-10468 on first reading, declare an emergency exists, and adopt the ordinance
on second reading.
