8.11 Agr Waste Tire Disposal CITY OF SALINA RE(~UEST FOR COI~ISSION ACTION DATE TIME 8/13/90 4:00 P,M, AGENDA SECTION: Administration ORIGINATING DEPART~4F_NT: APPROVED FOR NO. 8 AGENDA: CITY MANAGER ~0. IBY: Dennis Kissinger 0Y:~~i Resolution No 90-4206 (Remove from table and act) This Resolution would authorize a waste tire disposal contract with Sunflower Sanitation, Inc. After it was placed on the July 16, 1990 Commission agenda a public meeting was held involving interested tire dealers, waste haulers, and city staff. From that meeting it was determined that other firms were interested in contracting with the City, and other options might be available. At the request of City staff, the City Commission tabled this resolution indefinitely on July 16. Since that time the City has advertised, requested and received formal proposals for disposal of waste tires. The staff report was given on Augus~ 6. The following agenda item carries the current staff recom- mendation for a contract. Therefore, it is appropriate to dispose of this previously tabled resolution. A simple way to accomplish this is: (1) Motion (second and vote) to remove Resolution No. 90-4206 from the table. (2) Once item is back before the Commission for consideration, it may die for lack of a motion to approve.
