Accept bid for the purchase of the following property: Lots 11, 12 and 13,
Block 5 and Lots 1, 2, 4, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, and 30, Block 6, Meyer
Addition.

On July 9, 1990, the City Commission authorized the sale of the remaining
13 city-owned lots in Meyer Addition which were being reserved for a
neighborhood park. With acquisition of a tract of land 300' to the east
for future park purposes, the lots were deemed to be more suitable for
residential development. A portion of the property is being replatted to
form a more appropriate development pattern.
Sealed bids were received on August 9, 1990, from four interested bidders on
the entire 13 lots. The highest bid was submitted by James Drake in the
amount of $33,334. A cashier's check for 10% of the bid was provided.
Closing is scheduled for September 13, 1990.
Staff Recommendation
Accept the bid from James Drake in the amount of $33,334 for the subject
property.
