Renew Engineering Agreement with Wilson & Company Engineers & Architects for On-Call Municipal
Engineering Services.
BACKGROUND:
In March of 2007, the City Commission approved an On-Call Municipal Engineering Services
Agreement with Wilson & Company Engineers & Architects to provide miscellaneous Utilities
Department engineering needs.
The engineering services provided in 2007 include:
. Water Conservation Analysis
. Structural Inspection at the Water Treatment Plant
. Layne Report Review
. Structural Design for the chemical tank at the Wastewater Treatment Plant
The Agreement authorized an amount not to exceed of $25,000 and expired one year from the date of
the Agreement (03/05/07).
A t<:>tal ,?f $7,79.2.75 was utilized over the year and $17,207.25 remains available for additional
englneenng services.
The attached Agreement revises the amount not to exceed to $17,207.25 and revises the expiration
date to December 31, 2008. In addition, under paragraph 4.3, the wording was revised to allow the
Owner to either renew or extend the Agreement upon the expiration date. The previous Agreement
only allowed renewing the Agreement.
FISCAL NOTE:
The funding for this Agreement was encumbered in 2007, and this request will utilize the remaining
$17,207.25. In 2009, this will be a yearly expense (January 1 - December 31), which will be included
in the operating budget.
CONFORMANCE WITH THE STRATEGIC PLAN:
Related Strategic Plan goals may include:
GOAL #3: The City will provide the highest quality of services, consistent with governing body
direction, available resources and staff commitment to quality.
Action Item: The City Commission will maintain its commitment to the municipal organization by
providing direction and resources that will allow them to meet established expectation.
COMMISSION ACTION:
It is recommended that the City Commission approve Resolution No. 08-6513 authorizing to renew an
Agreement with Wilson & Company Engineers & Architects, in an amount not to exceed $17,207.25.
