Public Hearing on the advisability of certain sidewalk improvements on the east
side of Broadway Boulevard from Walnut Street to State Street, ordered by
Resolution Number 91-4316, adopted on June 24, 1991.
Notice of the public hearing was published in The Salina Journal on June 28
and July 13, 1991 and a notice was mailed to each property owner.
At the conclusion of the public hearing the City Commission should consider
Resolution Number 91-4327 determining the advisability of the improvements if
you are in favor of making the sidewalk improvements.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON THE ADVISABILITY OF
CERTAIN SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENTS
Notice is hereby given that the Board of Commissioners of the City
of Salina, Kansas, will meet for the purpose of holding a public hearing as
provided by K.S.A. 12-6a01 to 12-6a18, in the City Commission Meeting room,
City-County Building, on the 15th day of July, 1991, at 4:00 p.m. to consider
the advisability of the following improvements:
Property line and curb line sidewalk along the east side of Broadway
Boulevard from Walnut Street to State Street.
The extend or boundaries of the proposed improvement district to be
assessed is:
That part of the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas, described as
follows, to-wit:
Leavenworth Addition
Lots 9 and 10, and Lot I less the North 80 feet, Block 12
Park Number 3
Lots 1, 3, 5, 7, 9., 11 and 13, Block 8, except highway right-off-way
Lots i1 and 13, Block 3
Lots 7 and 9, Block 3
Lots l, 3, 5, Block 3
Elmdale Addition
South 40' of Lots 8 and 9, Block 6,
The estimated or probable cost of such improvements is $19,140.84.
The apportionment of cost between the improvement district and the
City-at-large is as follows:
1. Costs chargeable to private property in the amount of
$4,483.92.
2. Costs chargeable to the city-at-large in the amount of
$14,656.92.
The assessment with accrued interest shall be levied as a special
tax upon the property included within the benefit district concurrent with the
general property taxes and shall be payable in Four (4) equal annual
installments.
The method of assessment shall be based on the square footage of
the sidewalk actually constructed.
The hearing may be adjourned from time to time until the board of
Commissioners shall have made findings by Resolution as to the advisability of
the improvement district, the method of assessment and the apportionment of
the cost between the improvement district and the City-at-large. All as
finally determined by the Board of Commissioners, provided, the area of the
improvement district may be less than, but shall not exceed the area proposed
to be assessed as stated in this notice without giving notice and holding a new
hearing on the improvement. All persons desiring to be heard with reference
to the proposed improvement will be heard at this meeting.
