4.2 Rehabilitation CounselorsWhereas: The members of the Rehabilitation Counseling Profession have successfully
served persons with disabilities for more than 40 years, and
Whereas: Rehabilitation Counselors are the key individuals in the delivery of services
to persons with disabilities, and
Whereas: Rehabilitation Counselors are acutely sensitive to the needs of citizens with
disabilities in general and to the employment needs of persons with disabilities
specifically, and
Whereas: The profession of Rehabilitation Counseling has contributed to the success and
..progress of persons with disabilities throughout Salina, Saline County, Kansas and the
country,
Be It Therefore Resolved: The first week in the month of May (May 6-10, 1991), be
hereby declared Rehabilitation Counseling Week.
I, Stephen C. Ryan, Mayor of the City of Salina, do hereby proclaim
May 6-10, 1991, as
REHABlUTATION COUNSELORS WEEK
and urge that citizens of Salina join me in extending recognition to the professionals at
the core of the rehabilitation process for people with disabilities.
