AGENDA SECTION: NO. 8 ORIGINATING DEPARTMENT: PARKS & RECREATION APPROVED FOR AGENDA: ITEM NO. Page 2 2 BY: Steve Snyder BY: This project is to be funded equally fÌ"om the general fund and special parks fund. The pump buildings floors and foundations are included in the base bid while the buildings are the responsibility ofthe city. A contingency is proposed to cover any unanticipated costs. A revised project budget of $220,000 is recommended due to these changes with each fund being increased by $10,000. Staff is recommending that we not consider the color concrete alternate at this time. This will allow us the opportunity to review public input regarding the surface, with the ability to add deck coatings at a later time. Recommendation Staff recommends the City Commission award the contract for the constuction of two (2) spray grounds, project No. 02-1349 to Smoky Hill, LLC, Salina, in the amount of$156,609, and to amend the CIP to include the revised project budget of $220,000 in the next 2002 CIP update.
