the Museum's goal of creating a broad interpretive history of the Smoky Hill region and feature an
environment of artifacts, text, oral elements, and hands-on interactive exhibits, This project fits into the
Museum's mission, is vital to future accreditation, and will provide many tangible community and regional
benefits.
The total cost estimate for the Museum Gallery Renovation Project is $868,000. Based on positive
feedback from potential community supporters, the project is to be funded through private fundraising
efforts. The proposed project timeline is as follows:

initiation of private fund raising activities. In addition, Staff will formally include the project in the next
Capital Improvement Program (CIP) update for the year 2003.
