Award of contract for the Building Demolition Project No. 92-867.

This project involves the demolition of commercial buildings, houses, accessory
buildings and garages at the five following addresses:
210 North Second Street (House & Garage)
632 North Fifth Street (House)
1600 North Ninth Street (Commercial Building)
620 North Twelfth Street (House)
710-712 Morrison Avenue (Garage)
These structures are a portion of the 21 condemned buildings from the 1992
Dangerous Structures Project. All others were repaired or removed by the
owners.
Two valid bids were received for the project on Tuesday, December 15, 1992 as
follow:

DMH Enterprises, Inc. of Salina $18,000 Jan. 15, 1993 - Apr. 14, 1993
The Engineer's estimate is $10,500. One bid was rejected because a bid bond was
not submitted.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Commission award the contract for the Building
Demolition Project No. 92-867 to Johnson Farms in an amount not to exceed
$7,490. We will issue a "Notice to Proceed" for all buildings except the house
at 620 North 12th Street. City staff continues to work with this owner as to
the possibility of rehabilitation for this dwelling. A supplemental "Notice to
Proceed" will be issued if this dwelling is not rehabilitated.
