Resolution providing for the installation of a stop sign on Greeley Avenue at
the intersection with Kenwood Park Drive.
Background
With the closing of the Oakdale Bridge last week for bridge reconstruction,
traffic has increased significantly on Kenwood Park Drive particularly at the
intersections with Greeley and Midway Drive. A number of near-miss accidents
were observed during the week at Greeley and Kenwood Park Drive.
The intersection of Greeley and Kenwood Park is a "T" configuration with Greeley
as the leg of the "T". The intersection has been under observation for some
time due to past accident experience caused primarily by sight obstructions.
Good traffic engineering practice would dictate the placement of a stop sign on
Greeley at Kenwood Park Drive, stopping Greeley traffic only. Kenwood. Park
Drive traffic would be unregulated.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Commission approve the resolution authorizing
the installation of a stop sign on Greeley Avenue at the intersection with
Kenwood Park Drive.
