Three CTL mowers used by the Parks & Recreation Department were replaced
with mulching mowers this past year. One CTL was sold at the City auction in
December; the second is currently being used by the Salina Fire Department. The
City accepted sealed bids for the third surplus mower on August 11. This mower
is a 1985 CTL Turf Runner 72" cut Model 1900D, commercial.lawn mower. This
particular mower, though in running condition, is in need of repair to be used
regularly and has been a source of problems the last several years.
Two bids were received as listed:
Kansas Wesleyan University $410.00
Kelvin Kinderknecht $850.00
RECOMMENDATION:
It is staffs recommendation the City Commission reject both bids and retain this
mower. It is staffs feeling the mower could be better utilized and more valuable
for parts for the one remaining CTL being used by the Fire Department.
