Consideration of method of sale and pricing for various properties within the
Replat of Faith Addition and Eastgate Addition.
The current authorization for City staff to sell certain properties in the
Replat of Faith Addition and in Eastgate Addition expired on April 30th.
Due to the success we have had in using the direct sale approach, we
recommend continuing this effort through December 31, 1992 at the prioes
shown on Attachment 1. It should be noted these prices are "free and clear"
of special assessments.
Staff requests the authority to market the remaining properties in the Replat
of Faith Addition and Eastgate Addition at the amounts shown on
Attachment 1 until December 31, 1992. We also recommend terms of sale as
follows:
1. Ten percent (10%) down.
2. Balance due at closing with closing to occur within thh'ty (30) to
sixty (60) days.
3. Title insurance, if requested, will be provided with the buyer paying
one-half (1/2) the cost.
4. Real estate taxes will be prorated as of the date of closing.
5. A fifty dollar ($50) per property administration fee will be the
buyer's responsibility.
Attachment 2 gives a summary of the disposition of properties which the city
acquired at the 1988 and 1989 tax sales.
Attachment 3 is a copy of our previous property brochure on which we have
crossed off the lots sold since last year.
Recomnmended action
Authorize City staff to sell properties in the Replat of Faith Addition and
Eastgate Addition at the amounts shown on Attachment 1 until
December 31, 1992 and that the terms of sale be as recommended by staff.
