4.1 National AMBUCS MonthWHEREAS The recognition of AMBUCS (American Business Club) as an
organization making an important difference in communities
across the United States is a noteworthy event; and
WHEREAS The Sa]ina Morning Chapter, The Red Baron Chapter and The
Heartland Chapter of AMBUCS are members of National
AMBUCS now celebrating 69 years of service; and
WHEREAS AMBUCS displays a proud record of providing scholarships for
training young people as therapists for the functionally
handicapped; and
WHEREAS Salina is proud to boast of three Chapters of AMBUCS--The
Salina Morning Club, The Red Baron Noon Club and The
Heartland Evening Club; and
WHEREAS Each of the Chapters has various community projects in which
to participate, such as: Time out for Parents, The Infant
Stim Program, Funding for OCCK and Scholarships for loeai
students becoming therapists in addition to helping locally
handicapped persons;
NOW THEREFORE, I, Stephen C. Ryan, Mayor of the City of Salina, Kansas,
do hereby proclaim the Month of February 1992 as
NATIONAL AMBUCS MONTH
in Sa]ina and urge all citizens to become more aware of the altruistic
service and the wholesome upbuilding of communities they render.
