RESOLUTION NUMBER 86-3852
A RESOLUTION DETERMINING IT NECESSARY TO ACQUIRE UTILITY
EASEMENTS FOR THE USE OF THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS, FOR THE
PURPOSE OF CARRYING PUBLIC UTILITIES IN THE DOWNTOWN BUSINESS
DISTRICT AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MAKE
A SURVEY AND DESCRIPTION OF THE LAND NECESSARY FOR SUCH
PURPOSES.
Kansas:
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina,
Section I. It appears necessary that the City of Salina, Kansas,
acquire by purchase or by proper authorization and proceedings in eminent
domain, certain utility easements located in the Downtown Business District for
the purpose of carrying electric, telephone, cable television, and such other
utilities as are deemed appropriate by the City of Salina, for the mutual benefit
of those parties, whether individual or corporate, served by such utilities and
authorizing and directing the City Engineer to make a survey and description of
the easements necessary for such purposes.
Section 2. The City Engineer is hereby directed and instructed to
cause to be prepared a certificate showing the result of such survey over his
signature and to cause the same to be filed with the Office of the City Clerk of
the City of Salina, Kansas. Said report of the City Engineer shall contain a
description of the easements necessary for such purposes.
Section 3. After the filing of said survey and report of the City
Engineer in the Office of the City Clerk, the City Attorney be and he is hereby
directed to cause a proper ordinance to be prepared and submitted to the Board
of Commissioners for the appropriation proceedings relating to said easements.
Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and
after its adoption and publication once in the official city newspaper.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this
21st day of July, 1986.
