1993 Fall Street Marking (pavement striping) for the City of Salina.
~ Background:
The City is accustom to repainting the street pavement markings or striping
twice a year. When weather has interfered and the street marking was not
~ accomplished, the pavement marking required extra work in laying out the
markings and most were illegible.
The City Staff has been in contact with Twin Traffic Marking of Kansas City.
Twin Traffic Marking did not bid because their offices and equipment were
under water in Kansas City. They are not back in their office yet, but have
assured the City staff their equipment is serviced and again operational.
The City staff has entered into negotiations and has settled on a price with~
Twin Traffic Marking. Twin Traffic has offered to complete the 1993 Fall
Street marking in Salina for a price of $15,380.32. This is about the price
city forces would be able to mark the streets. Contracting the work out allOws
city forces to do other work.
Recommendation:
Staff feels it would be advantageous to accept Twin Traffic Marking price of
$15,380.32. The staff recommends the contract for the 1993 Fall Street Marking
Project be awarded to Twin Traffic Marking for $15,380.32.
