Award of contract for the 2000 Subdivision Improvements, Phase II, Project No. 00-1223.
BACKGROUND:
The City Commission recently approved two(2) petitions for street, water, sanitary sewer and
storm drainage improvements in the following subdivisions:
1. Woodland Hills Estates Addition
2. Twin Oaks III Subdivision
Bids were received for this project on Tuesday, June 6, 2000 as follows:

The developers of each subdivision have submitted letters of credit in the amount of 35 percent
of the bid amount pursuant to city policy. When the properties in the benefit district have been
35 percent developed, the letter of credit will be released. This project will provide 32 additional
residential lots for development.
RECOMMEDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission award the contracts for the 2000 Subdivision
Improvements, Phase II, Project No. 00-1223, to APAC Kansas-Shears Division for paving and
drainage improvements in the amount of $188,859.10 and to Stevens Contractors, Inc. for water
and sanitary sewer improvements in the amount of $141,081.00 for a total contract award of
$329,940.10.
